A Ford audio reset is a troubleshooting process that restores your vehicle's audio system to its normal operating condition. It can resolve common problems such as a frozen touchscreen, unresponsive controls, Bluetooth connection failures, audio distortion, radio glitches, or a system that refuses to power on. Depending on your Ford model and infotainment system, you can perform either a soft reset or a factory reset.
Method 1: Soft Reset (Recommended)
A soft reset restarts the audio system without deleting your saved settings.
Turn the ignition to the ON position or start the engine.
Turn on the audio system.
Press and hold the Power (Volume) button and the Seek Forward (>>|) button simultaneously.
Continue holding both buttons for about 5–10 seconds.
The display will turn black and the Ford logo will appear.

Disconnect the negative battery cable using the appropriate wrench.
Wait approximately 10–15 minutes.
Reconnect the negative battery cable securely.
Start the vehicle and allow the audio system to initialize.
