Ford Tire Pressure Sensor Fault Reset Button Location

On most Ford vehicles, the tire pressure sensor fault reset button location is not a clearly visible physical button in modern systems. Many newer Ford models use a software-based TPMS reset through the dashboard menu or ignition sequence instead of a dedicated switch. However, for older Ford models that still have a physical reset button, the location usually varies by model and year.

The most common location is inside the glove box area, often mounted on the upper inner side wall or behind a small plastic cover. Another frequent spot is under the steering wheel, near the driver-side fuse box or lower dashboard panel, sometimes hidden behind a trim cover. In some Ford vehicles, the reset button may also be found on the lower dashboard near the steering column, appearing as a small recessed button that requires a pin or pen to press. Less commonly, certain trims place it in the center console area, near traction control or auxiliary switches.

For most 2015 and newer Ford models, there is usually no physical reset button at all, because the TPMS reset is handled electronically via the instrument cluster settings or ignition procedure. In these cases, the “reset button location” effectively does not exist as hardware.

Important note: if you are dealing with a tire pressure sensor fault, pressing a reset will not fix the issue if a tire is underinflated or a TPMS sensor is damaged or has a dead battery. Always check and correct tire pressure first before attempting a reset.
